GCE Buzz: April-May 2025

The April-May 2025 edition of GCE Buzz spotlights Global Action Week for Education (GAWE) 2025, showing how coalitions across Africa, the Arab region, Latin America, Asia, and Europe mobilised under the theme “Education Saves Lives: Protect Education in Emergencies.”

It highlights country actions from Benin to the Philippines, regional efforts to end child marriage and advance girls’ education, civil society leadership in Lesotho and Tanzania, youth and digital activism in Zimbabwe, and new learning briefs on education in emergencies and the risks of education privatisation, all reinforcing the demand for inclusive, crisis‑resilient, publicly funded education systems.
