Toolkit – Meaningful Youth and Student Engagement in Education Advocacy

Spread the word

«Meaningful Youth and Student Engagement in Education Advocacy» is a practical toolkit designed to help organisations move beyond tokenistic participation towards genuine youth leadership in education campaigns and policy processes.

Developed with young people through global surveys and youth-led regional workshops across four continents, it offers insights into how youth define “meaningful engagement” – action-oriented, clearly scoped, based on shared ownership, intergenerational dialogue and well-defined roles – and why their lived experiences and perspectives are essential for shaping inclusive education systems.

Aimed at NGOs, state bodies, coalitions and youth-led groups, the toolkit combines research findings with concrete guidance and an activity bank (from social media takeovers and community mapping to data walks and open space meetings) that organisations can use to engage youth at every stage of projects, from ideation to implementation and evaluation.
