Ways to Get Involved

Become a member

GCE is a membership‑driven movement; members shape our strategy, leadership and collective advocacy. By joining, you connect with a diverse community of national coalitions, regional networks, teachers’ unions, youth and student formations, and international NGOs committed to advancing the right to education.

As a member, you can:

  1. Engage in joint advocacy and campaigning on our three global priorities – transforming education, education in emergencies and crises, and education financing.
  2. Participate in consultations, working groups and global spaces that influence education policies and financing at local, national, regional and global levels.
  3. Access movement‑wide learning spaces, resources and tools to strengthen your advocacy, research, campaigning and organisational capacities.

Who can join?

  • National education coalitions and civil society platforms
  • Regional and sub‑regional networks
  • Teachers’ and education workers’ unions
  • Youth‑ and student‑led organisations and formations
  • International NGOs and global networks working on education and related rights

Partner with us

Strategic partnerships are essential to expanding the reach, credibility and impact of our collective advocacy. GCE collaborates with civil society networks, youth and feminist movements, research institutions, foundations and allies who share our commitment to education as a fundamental human right.

As a partner, you can:

  1. Co‑design and implement advocacy and campaign initiatives around transforming education systems, protecting education in emergencies, and securing sustainable, just education financing.
  2. Support and amplify the work of national and regional coalitions, including research, evidence generation and high‑level policy engagement.
  3. Invest in strengthening the sustainability, accountability and leadership of the movement, in line with GCE’s strategic objectives to grow its membership, influence and organisational resilience.

Ideal partners include:

  • Foundations and philanthropic actors
  • Research and academic institutions
  • Civil society and social justice networks
  • Multilateral and regional bodies seeking meaningful civil society engagement

Take action

Everyone has a role to play in defending the right to education. Whether you are part of an organisation, a youth or student group, or an individual advocate, your action contributes to collective change.

You can:

  1. Join global advocacy moments such as Global Action Week for Education by organising or participating in campaigns, dialogues and creative actions in your context.
  2. Advocate with your government to increase and improve education financing, prioritise transformative education, and protect education in emergencies and crises.
  3. Share GCE analyses, statements and resources within your networks to build public support for education as a human right and a public good.
