Sudan faces one of the world’s most severe and under-reported education crises. Since the conflict escalated in April 2023, millions of children have been cut off from schooling, as classrooms are destroyed, occupied, or turned into shelters. Yet, local educators continue teaching with incredible resilience, often in displacement sites or under life-threatening conditions.
A webinar was held on 17 February 2026 to spotlight the ongoing denial of the right to education in Sudan and to centre the voices of Sudanese teachers, students, and advocates.
Speakers included representatives from the Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE), Sudanese Coalition for Education For All (SCEFA), Global Education Cluster, and GCE, alongside Sudanese educators and youth.
The webinar was co-organised by GCE, the Arab Campaign for Education for All (ACEA), INNE, and the Global Education Cluster.
