Updated on Jan 1, 2026

The August–September 2025 edition of GCE Buzz showcases feminist organising, teacher leadership and youth activism advancing inclusive, well-funded public education across regions and at the UN level. It follows GCE and its members through Gender Transformative Education workshops, global teacher policy debates and youth-led campaigns that link education to justice, equality and democratic participation.

  • Regional features cover Gender Transformative Education processes in Africa, the Arab region, Asia-Pacific and Latin America, including feminist budget advocacy and teacher well-being.
  • Global policy moments include the World Summit on Teachers, the Santiago Consensus and deliberations on a new Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on free early childhood and secondary education.
  • Youth stories spotlight organising in Armenia and Artsakh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Timor-Leste, the Philippines and the United States, where young people defend civic space and push for more accountable education systems.
