This report documents the Global Campaign for Education’s Transforming Education in Africa workshop, held in Johannesburg in October 2024, which brought together national education coalitions and partners from across the continent to analyse the state of education in Africa, share advocacy and EdTech innovations, and shape collective responses to persistent challenges like underfunding, digital divides, and exclusion. It highlights key outcomes on strengthening engagement with African Union and regional frameworks, advancing gender-responsive and inclusive digital education, deepening regional collaboration, and agreeing a concrete 2024–2025 action plan on research, campaigning, and education financing advocacy to drive systemic reform at national, regional, and continental levels.
